Oldham Domestic Violence Forum

The Oldham Domestic Violence Forum exists to support organisations, groups and individuals. The overall aim of the Forum, by multi-agency cooperation, is to improve the quality and accessibility of information, advice, protection, support and services for all women and children who have experienced, or are experiencing domestic violence.

The forum acknowledges that domestic violence essentially involves the misuse of power and the exercise of control by one person, usually a man, over another, usually a woman. For this reason, the primary focus of the Forum is male violence against women.

All agencies represented on the Forum accept and follow the principles and methods of working laid down in the ODVF Constitution and Terms of Reference.

The four sub-groups presently represented on the Forum cover the following areas...

  • Training

  • Child Protection

  • Minority Communities

  • Policy
